Having been brought up within the Israeli orthodox community, encountering vibrant conservative and reform communities with rich Jewish lives was a new experience for me. If you do not live Israel that might sound very strange to you – this realization has brought me to the conclusion that trying to bridge this gap might be one of the most important tasks that the Jewish world faces nowadays.
I find Rav Siach to be a starting point where a new understanding and an ongoing conversation can be created, and where all of us – being passionate about Judaism and seeing it as the center of our lives – can learn from each other and reflect upon how we are viewed by others, in our quest to find the full meaning that Judaism can give our lives.
I believe that there is a lot we can learn from each other, and that it is crucial that we do so – and Rav Siach creates that opportunity and by that enables us to try and create a better world.
