Day 4 - 1st alternative: Karlovy Vary

A full day trip tp Karlovy Vary, the most famous spa in Europe, which was also extremely popular with well to do Jews in pre- Holocaust years. The town is extremely beautiful and scenic. One can take a health bath in one of the springs, or just drink the water. There are numerous walking paths, not to mention crystal shops. Historically, there is an interesting Jewish angle. Two Zionist congresses were held in Karlovy Vaary as well as important meetings of Agudath Israel. This will be a lever for us to discuss the special nature of Zionist movement in Bohemia and Moravia as well as the situation of Jews in the interwar period of the Czechoslovak Republic pf Thomas Masaryk .
